Spreading Mozilla @ chennai Schools

It was in the month of Month of November , me and my other friend ( 2 Mozilla Student reps) got a chance to spread the Mozilla in government schools. It was fun teaching to the school students., though we expected a lot from them, they dint even have a much knowledge about the browser. We just explained what the browser is for and what are it functions., We also taught them about Web making , on which students had more interest and got response from the students. i would also like to carry out this precious contribution to the students in the following months :)

Tech carnival@Sastra university

It was on 7th October morning, me and other reps reached Sastra university for the event, they provided us with rooms .!! There was about 200 registrations for the events and Deb took the Workshop in 2 batches. Me and Gautham took a session on Webmaking. It was on same night we returned back to our hometowns.

Mozilla Mania @Velammal Engg college

It was on October 6th we conducted the event , about 100+ registered for Webmaking and Add-on development session., I still remember , i had my exams in morning and rushed to the event center in the afternoon.!! My Good luck, the event was just started few min.earlier, due to power failure. Soumya Deb was carrying on with his Add-on Development Workshop. where me, Gautham and Dwarak were helping him. We also explained the ways in which they can contribute through Mozilla in projects like l10n and Webmaking. After that we rushed upto Sastra university (Tanjore) for the next day's event. :)

PowerSearching with Google

Let me share my experience in learning about power searching in Google, It was on September 24, when Google launched its course, registered for course, off course its free of cost, learnt a lot about how Google Search engine Works and about Google Search algorithm, had some live sessions
practice sessions was more helpful.
There was two assignments need to completed, one is Mid-class Assesment and Post-class Assesment
Scored a overall 94% and the most important part is that , Google provided every participant with a Certificate, Though Certificate is not give nowadays , you can learn a lot about how Google Search Engine works from the given link

contributing to Mozilla through Localisation (Firefox aurora in Tamil)

Hi Friends,
            After a long i have got time to update my blog, This time i have come with a new way of contributing to Mozilla Firefox., Easiest and interesting way of contributing to Mozilla can be done Localization(l10n), There are various localization languages available for translation, you can choose ur preffered language language for translation.The translation can be made using three ways one is by Mercurial, and other method by Narro tool  and the final method is by pootle.

Sign up for ur pootle account and click on the conformation mail.!!! so now now you are ready for translating Firefox in preferred language

choose Tamil language from the given languages in the pootle site
You ll get a overview of translation
Click on the existing project (i.e Firefox aurora18 is the current project)
select the folder among those and start translating. :)

Mozcamp chennai

It was on 20th and 21st where i organized summer code party in my college.., where about 50 students came actively attended d event.., i took session on hackasaraus and in developing restartless add-ons., got a got response from my friends for the event..!! and i distributed the mozilla swags to the audience who attended the moz-camp.., it was a tow days fun filled session.., my friends asked me to conduct more sessions like this camp.

Mozcafe chennai..!!!

Had a great time with all d mozilla reps overall d over chennai and with my mentor..!! we discussed many things about developing the reps program.., we had enough chat ., and our dinner in EA..! nd a volunteer from vivekanda college hav turned for the meet.!!
